WINTER AT THE CABIN
From the Smith Cabin, spend a day backcountry skiing, cross-country skiing, cat-skiing, or snowmobiling with Aspen Powder Tours or alpine ski the front side of Ajax Mountain-- to later return to your luxury retreat away from the crowds. The glades of Aspen trees and open meadows make the out-of-bounds experience here one of a kind. Traversing along the ridge provides numerous drop-in opportunities, with more than 3,000 feet of vertical to the valley floor. Snowshoeing is also a popular activity, and it's literally available out the front door of the cabin.
SPRING, SUMMER & FALL AT THE CABIN
As the snow melts, Aspen becomes an ideal playground for the outdoor enthusiast. Hike and explore the backside of the mountain and its many trails or grab your bike. The same ski trails are unparalleled when it comes to mountain biking. Ride to Taylor Lake or out to the Sundeck for lunch. Also a great starting point for a bike ride to Crested Butte. From small game to big elk, hunting is at the heart of the Colorado wilderness experience. The ultimate hunting camp, the Smith Cabin is located on 692 private acres and surrounded by National Forest land. It is a great place to take the jeep out and head down the mountain to visit downtown Aspen or head south to Taylor lake and onto Crested Butte.
